I'm at TH lvl 8 with maxed troops for that lvl. When full on foe gold n elixir I go hunting DE. To make it simple i just set range 300 with TH lvl 7.

Do you use meet townhall level?

If you can cancel one of the worker then do it, spend it on walls. That's what I did to collect more resources.
